General Definition
A Wordmark is a visual identifier consisting exclusively of typographic lettering. Unlike a signet or symbol, its identity is created solely through typography, proportion, rhythm, spacing, and the form of its letters. A Wordmark combines verbal identity with visual design and serves as a lasting means of recognition.
Meaning within jahdara
The Wordmark of jahdara is the typographic expression of the authorial identity. While the Signet condenses that identity into an abstract form, the Wordmark transforms the name itself into a design element.
For jahdara, typography is never decorative. Letters are not merely arranged but consciously designed. Their proportions, spacing, and rhythm follow the same principles of reduction, precision, and coherence that define the entire visual system.
The Wordmark never exists in isolation. Together with the Signet and the Visual Identity, it forms a coherent visual language. Depending on the application, it may appear independently or alongside the Signet while maintaining its own recognizability.
For jahdara, the Wordmark does more than identify a name. It demonstrates that language itself can become design when form and meaning arise from the same intellectual foundation.
