Truth refers to the correspondence between a statement, an insight, or a perception and reality. Depending on the philosophical tradition, truth is understood as an objective property of the world, a logical correspondence, a practical verification, or an ongoing process of understanding. It is one of the central concepts of philosophy and underlies many scientific, ethical, and religious inquiries.
